Celoplás is Stratasys’ first Portuguese case study
The prototype handling tool for robotic arms project, an internal Celoplás RD&I Project, was the first Portuguese case-study of Stratasys, which develops 3D printing machines of different technologies.
In this project, a prototype handling tool, also known as clamped hand, was developed and entirely manufactured by additive processes through FDM technology. This technology has enabled to overcome the constraints of standard subtractive manufacturing techniques, making it possible to produce a 40% lighter and more compact grip in a significantly shorter period of time.
The developed handling tool already has over 2000 working hours in perfect conditions, enabling us to validate the potential of Stratasys’ FDM technology for this type of industrial applications.
