CELOPLÁS -PLÁSTICOS PARA A INDÚSTRIA, S.A. was founded in 1989 based on the experience in plastic injection gained by its founder Fábrica Nacional de Relógios Reguladora, S.A., which produced plastic parts for water and electricity meters since the end of the 1950’s.

Due to the achieved technological development, it was possible to find customers interested in the supply of high precision plastic parts and therefore the industry evolved into a company itself.

Its current share capital is of € 500.000,00 owned 100% by national shareholders.

With an initial building area of about 2.000 m2 in a total area of 25.000 m2, where 16 employees worked with 16 injection machines, the company now covers an area of 10.000 m2. Currently with a total of 56 injection machines, Celoplás produces more than 100 million pieces per year, using more than 150 different grades of engineering thermoplastics as well as thermosettings, BMC's and silicones.

Directly or indirectly, 95% of Celoplas’ sales are to export market.

In October 1992 Celoplás started the production of precision moulds for its own use, being now able to produce about 50 small-scale moulds / year, whose weight ranges between 15 kg and 750 kg. The latest technologies, using CAD / CAM / CAE software versions, are employed for the mould design and construction.

Certified ISO 9002 in 1995, Celoplás is currently certificated according to ISO 9001:2008 and TS 16949:2002.
